- We would never have known about this VA benefit my father was entitled to -- if it weren't for Project Veteran Aid. They advised us on filling out the necessary paperwork, and made the application process simple and quick. My dad was fully approved for his benefit in 3 1/2 months. We are very grateful to David and everyone at Project Veteran Aid. -Jeanne F.
- Project Veteran Aid was so patient in answering my many emails, phone calls, and myriad of questions. For what seemed like (and was!) a very complicated process, David was able to help us sort through all the details, make the necessary financial transactions, understand the qualifying criteria, and complete the application process. Of course, the best part of the process was that of a positive outcome. The benefits my brother is now receiving will help his life to be a little better -- less of a financial burden and able to attain the assistance and care he now so desperately needs. All of this would never have been possible without the assistance of David Seitzer, and we will be forever grateful for his help. -Nancy S
- We have been trying to get my Dad to apply for several years. He wouldn't, thought it was too much trouble and in the end wouldn't' be worth it. After attending a workshop at his senior living community he finally applied. The benefits he received makes it possible for him to continue to be independent. He was so worried his savings would run out. PVA is a wonderful program and it is a blessing to older Vets and POWs. Thank you!!. This is a wonderful service. -Sondra S.
- The services which "Project Veteran Aid" provided my 91 year old mother, at no cost to her and her family, has given her the financial opportunity to live in a private assisted living facility for the next 5 years. Without the VA Death Benefit pension which Project Veteran Aid so aptly assisted in obtaining for her, she would have exhausted all her funds in two and a half years and either have had to go to a Medicaid facility or I and my siblings would have had to fund the cost of her private assisted living facility. I can't say enough great things about the Project Veteran Aid organization. They knew exactly how to prepare the necessary VA paperwork required to get benefit approval in the shortest time. They are a godsend to any veteran and/or their family. -Audrey L.S.
- Project Veteran Aid is the reason that Mom is receiving aid for her past military service. They were professional and very accommodating through every stop of the process. Mom now has peace of mind as far as her finances go all due to aid that she did not even know existed prior to finding out about Project Veteran Aid. Thank you for your awesome assistance and guidance from both of us. We recommend you highly. Thank you again. -Evelyn M. F.
- These remarkable people stepped in at a time in our lives when things could not seem more bleak! The cost of medical bills, prescriptions, and 24-hour care for my husband was draining our resources, and draining my energy and spirit. The kindness and compassion shown to us truly honored, not only my husband, but, indeed, our entire family. We were never made to feel embarrassed or ashamed for needing help. The caring way we were treated and the guidance and support we received, must have come from angels on earth! God Bless you all! And thank you! -Respectfully, Vince and Peggy M.
- Like many older people I and my son were a little skeptical -- Too good to be true. But with little effort and guidance from Project Veteran Aid, I've been able to live comfortable at Orchid Terrace Retirement Center with enough money from Social Security and this Veterans Assistance to pay all my bills and not be a financial burden to my family. This has given me great peace of mind. -Jean B.
- I would like to personally thank you for your help in procuring the V.A. benefits for my 94 year old father. The V.A. office advised me that he was ineligible for benefits. With your help, within 2 months after applying, my father began receiving his benefits in full. Without your help and guidance my father would not be receiving the benefits he deserves. (33 months in Europe during WW2) -Doil K.
- First let me say that you are such a blessing. I did not know( and no one within my range of friends and family members knew) of this benefit to our past War Heroes' and their spouses. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for coming to Gambrill Gardens and giving the workshop on this benefit. My Mother-in-law is also grateful because with this benefit it will allow her to stay in an independent living situation for a while longer. I have been remiss to not get this letter to you before now...but, was prompted again when we realized that our seniors will not get a cost of living raise for the next 2 years. So this makes this benefit all the more necessary and poignant. Please continue to go into senior citizen homes and work on publicizing this much needed information to those who have veterans living in their homes who would not be privileged to sit in on a workshop. Again, thanks for the information, paperwork and the encouragement to provide to those whom have served our country during wars. You are a blessing and a visual aide showing that there are some who still care for our Veterans. Bless you all. -Barbara H
- Without this program my mother would never have known about this benefit. She probably would not have been able to live a lifestyle that she earned and deserved in her later years because of the cost. I can't thank you enough for all that you did. She can enjoy her day without worrying about where she is going to live and also having enough to pay for medicine and other essentials. -Beverly M.
- I am the daughter of a 91 year old veteran. I don't know what I would have done without the gentleman from Project Veterans Aid. They were able to walk me through each step of the process and even tell me what would come next. With their help, my father who is strong physically but unable to care for himself mentally can continue to be cared for in the surroundings he is familiar with. This might not have been possible without the help I received. I want to thank you all for helping all of these people who deserve to live out their lives comfortably. -Dee D.
- Thank you so very much for coming to Cape Albeon and telling us about this benefit my mom had just about exhausted her assets after 8 1/2 years here. She would have had to move in December, if not for this additional income. -Janice S.
- A decline in health required my parents to seek assistance. They were no longer able to maintain their own home and required help with activities of daily living. They recently moved to a senior living center which provides the assistance they need, while encouraging them to remain as independent as possible. Project Veteran Aid has made this possible. We were, as many are, unaware that the veterans pension existed for those who qualify. A friend of mine led me to Project Veteran Aid and they have been there for us from the beginning. They are very knowledgeable about the benefits and the application process. He helped us to understand the eligibility requirements and navigated us through the application. Plain and Simple, we could not have done it without them. His manner is one of professionalism with a sense of genuine concern and respect for veterans. My dad was awarded a purple heart in WWII defending our country. It is wonderful to see him receive assistance mow in his time of need. Our family will be forever grateful to Project Veteran Aid. -Jan P.
- My Dad would be delighted that his military service has provided a monthly benefit to my mother to help with the expense of her care, and that such a helpful group as Project Veteran Aid is available for family support throughout the process. -Jean G.
- You are providing an excellent service as a liaison between the government and the veteran. Your help to the veteran with additional instructions and what to watch for makes the process move along. -Jerry P
- My father served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a loving husband, father and provided well for his family until his death 22 years ago. His widow, my mom, was diagnosed with dementia recently, and the bills incurred because of this were more than her income could cover. Mom needed help and support with her daily life. Because of the nurturing, guidance and financial support received from Project Veteran Aid, my mother no long has to worry about some of the resources needed to maintain her daily lifestyle. My father would have never imagined that after 69 years his VA benefits would help support his wife today. The support shown from Project Veteran Aid through the Department of Veteran Affairs will always be remembered. -JoAnne B.

We are most grateful and appreciative for the outstanding service and will try to spread the word to everyone we know. -Patti B.
- We appreciate greatly the effort put forth to help my brother get his benefit. It was greatly needed and we had no idea it was there for him until we attended the workshop at the nursing home. Thank you very much. May God bless you and your family and your efforts to help other veterans and widows to get their benefits. -Peace L.
